Finstead Capital is a commercial finance broker built on a simple idea: Australian businesses deserve better support and more choice when they access finance.
Our story
Finstead Capital was founded in 2020 by Steven Shirley and Cameron Reaney, who saw too many capable businesses and developers going without the right support to access the best finance in the market. The banks were one answer among many, and most owners never saw the rest.
We set out to change that. Finstead is a broker, not a lender. We arrange finance from a panel of more than 100 lenders and act for you, not the lender, sourcing the structure and terms that suit your business. We built the firm on relationships, partnering with clients at every stage from first enquiry through to settlement and beyond.
That approach plays to its strengths on the deals that need a broker most: turnarounds, ATO debt, acquisitions and property cash-out, the kind other brokers put in the too-hard basket.
Finstead Capital is part of the Finstead Group, which also includes Finstead Risk Solutions, the group’s insurance and risk advisory arm. Together the group helps business owners fund and protect what they are building.
